Even though the Court of Appeal decided to return the case to the first instance, thus leaving Sali Berisha without the PD seal, the latter yesterday afternoon signed the letter to the CEC, for the registration of the party in the May 14 elections.
In a report for ABC News, journalist Erneta Shevroja said that the submitted letter bears the signature of Sali Berisha, as the chairman of the DP, and is expected to be discussed at the CEC meeting, even though the chances of being approved are legally zero, since the Appeal overturned the ‘Zhukri’ decision.
In parallel with this document, Sali Berisha is making every move in order to find an alternative to participate in the elections.
One option is the March 6 scenario, where the Freedom Party can be the party with which it will be the leader of a coalition, but small parties are also part of the discussions. Berisha is carrying out negotiations with Mediu and Duka, and Meta’s PL comes out alone in the elections for municipal councilors.
However, everything is expected to be clarified in the following hours. We remind you that today is the deadline for submitting requests for the registration of political parties, while March 15 is the deadline for submitting requests for the registration of coalitions.
