General Director of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, has ordered this Tuesday the leaders of the district and border police to increase controls in the field and closed areas as well as to organize joint control groups to prevent the cultivation of narcotic plants.
In January and February, there were several cases in Durres, Fier and Vlora, where 3 villas were adapted for the cultivation of narcotic plants by means of lamps.
Meanewhile, a warehouse was discovered in Kropishte, Selenica, while 13 citizens have been arrested, of these 8 OSHEE employees, while three others have been declared wanted.
“General Director, order to all police structures:
– Intensify checks in the field and in closed premises;
-Collect information, cooperating with citizens and law enforcement agencies, on persons with tendencies in the field of cultivation and trafficking of narcotics;
-Weekly control of the territory, with control groups and not only the responsibility of the SPZ, but of the entire police structure in the area;
-Organize joint control groups, with all the institutions charged by law;
-Detailed controls at the border crossing points, at the land and sea borders, to prevent the introduction of cannabis seeds into Albania and to prevent cross-border crimes, in particular the attempted trafficking of narcotics;
-Intensify cooperation with partners, at the local, regional and central level, by organizing joint patrols, both at sea and on land, to prevent and attack cross-border crimes.
– Cooperate with OSHEE in the districts, to identify illegal electricity connections.
– In the event that other law-enforcement agencies will find narcotic plants cultivated in open ground or in closed premises, the responsibility will be on the management chain of the directorate and the relevant police station;
-Organize mass meetings, with the participation of school students and citizens, in order to raise awareness for the prevention of the cultivation of narcotic plants and to increase the awareness of citizens, to denounce this activity”, as quoted from Director Rrumbullaku’s orders.
