Over 60 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a container of bananas have been discovered in Italy. Local media write that the shipment of bananas, in which the narcotic substance was found, came from Ecuador.
An Albanian citizen, whose identity is not known, ended up in handcuffs for the shipment.
He is 37 years old and lives in Milan, while he was immediately arrested on charges of international drug trafficking, meanwhile he was then transferred to the prison of Genoa Marassi.
The drug, about 60 kilograms of cocaine, divided into 50 packages, was seized and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. At the time of the arrest, the Albanian citizen had a firearm and 13 cartridges.
Meanwhile, further investigations are continuing to identify the person who ordered the cocaine with a value of EUR 5 million in grey market.
