The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, was honored today with the title “Citizen of Honor” from the city of Presheva. The title was given to him by the chairman of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Presheva, Sami Salihu, in the solemn session held in the Municipal Assembly.
“I humbly accept this great honor! From tomorrow I will wake up every day saying not only what I will do for Tirana, where I have been elected to lead, but also what I will do for Presheva, the city that has honored me as its youngest citizen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I appreciate it immensely. You touched me so much! I love you very much and I will continue to be your friend, your supporter and keep a great love for Presheva” said Veliaj.
He said that the Municipality of Tirana has made a concrete commitment to contribute to the education of children in the Presheva Valley.
“We will finance the ‘Knowledge’ school, because it is a request for education, for knowledge, in an Albanian school that was founded in 1920, exactly the year when Tirana was declared the Capital. Therefore, it would be an honor for our City Council to approve this request of the Mayor of Preševo and make sure that the ‘Knowledge’ school is reconstructed and turned into a base of knowledge,” emphasized Veliaj.
