A few hours before the start of the trial by the Court of Appeal, the head of the democratic parliamentary group, which also holds the seal of this party after the departure of Lulzim Basha, Enkelejd Alibeaj has withdrawn the complaint about the DP statute.
The legal representative, Indrit Sefa, said that they have given up the appeal in order to pave the way for the trial of Agron Zhukri’s decision on the DP seal. According to him, the issue of merging the 2 statutes prevented the trial on the decision made by Judge Agron Zhukri to give the seal to Sali Berisha, therefore he takes this step after the Appeal gives the final decision.
He also claims that the case has been deliberately dragged out, turning into a legal artifice.
In the meantime, after this request, the court has convened, thereby dismissing the appeal case for the merger of the two assemblies of the Democratic Party.
Today’s judgment, for which we request the dismissal of the case, determines whether the Assembly of July 2021 will be registered or not in the register of political parties of the Court of Tirana.
