Tensions in the north of Kosovo, protest in front of the Serbian embassy in Tirana

Civil society citizens held a protest today in front of the Serbian embassy in Tirana in support of Kosovo, after tensions in the north of the country with Serbia. With banners in their hands, citizens demand elections for Kosovo.

The barricades located in the north of the country continue to keep the roads towards the border of Jarinja and Bërnjak blocked for seven days. The local Serbs have set up another barricade very close to the village of Çaber in the direction of Zubin Potok, where they have placed two trucks.

Almost all shops are closed except for food and pharmacies, while classes are not being held in schools and faculties.

This situation with shops and schools in the north will last at least until December 18 by order of the crisis headquarters formed days ago and led by the chairman of the Serbian List, Goran Rakiç.
