Defense Minister Niko Peleshi participated in the sixth meeting of the Defense Contact Group for Ukraine.
In this meeting called by the Secretary of the US Department of Defense Mr. Lloyd Austin and the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, at the NATO headquarters in Brussels, were present representatives of nearly 50 allied and partner countries.
The purpose of this meeting was to address Ukraine’s requirements for military and non-military capabilities necessary to continue the response to Russia’s unprovoked attack.
In the discussions of the high representatives of the allied states, the unity in support of Ukraine was confirmed. During his speech, the Minister of Defense of Albania, Niko Peleshi, strongly condemned the so-called Russian referendums on the annexation of the regions of Ukraine, expressing Albania’s position to never recognize them. Peleshi mentioned the contribution of the Albanian government so far in support of Ukraine and stated that efforts are being made to provide military and humanitarian aid.The Chief of General Staff of FARSH Brigadier General Arben Kingji also participated in this meeting. The sixth meeting of the Defense Contact Group for Ukraine was held before the two-day meeting of the Defense Ministers of the NATO countries.
