The former director of the Albanian Road Authority, Sonila Qato, was summoned on Monday morning to the Special Prosecutor’s Office, SPAK. The reasons for her call to the anti-corruption structure are not known. Qato was accompanied by her lawyer.
Meanwhile, journalist Ermal Vija reports that Qato appeared at SPAK for a report made by a road construction company.
The report was made by this company for the time when the former minister was in charge of ARA and when the tender for the Kardhiq-Delvin road was carried out.
According to the company, Qato has unfairly disqualified her from the race while demanding that she be charged with abuse of duty.
The prosecution, after having postponed the investigations several times, will decide whether the charges will be officially communicated to the former minister or whether there will be other investigative actions.
