One of the most famous Albanian personalities in America passed away. The head of the Albanian newspaper in the US “Dielli” Dali Greca passed away at the age of 72. The news was announced by the Vatra Federation, which has also expressed its condolences for the loss of one of its icons and the entire Albanian community in America.

Today, May 16, 2022, at 4.23 PM in New York, the heart of our precious friend Dalip Greca stopped forever. The sudden escape has devastated us all in spirit. This hasty and unjust departure has killed us terribly upset endlessly.
A physical departure that leaves behind a lot of sadness, regret and deep pain to family, friends and co-workers. We will forever remember and respect your outstanding contribution, dedication and dedication to the work you do, the correctness of tasks, fidelity to promises and friendships, dedication and devotion to the Albanian community, friends, media and nation.
Dalip Rexhep Greca was born in Lushnje on October 10, 1950. He completed his basic education in his hometown, while he finished high school in June 1969 at the high school “Abas Shehu” in Tepelena.
He studied Albanian Language and Literature at the Higher Pedagogical Institute Shkodra 1969-1971, which he completed with excellent results. 1971-1974 performed compulsory military service in the Navy. In the last year of his service he started his correspondence studies at the University of Tirana for Literature, which he completed with very good results in May 1976. He worked in education until August 1983, when he started working as an editor for Culture and Sports in The local newspaper “Shkëndija”.
He lost this job because of his support for the democratic process in December 1990.
On July 20, 1999, he emigrated to the United States of America and began working as the editor-in-chief of the Albanian section of the Albanian-American newspaper ILLYRIA. For 10 years he was one of the journalists who researched, interviewed, investigated personalities and ordinary people of the community and won the respect of the Albanians of America. He managed to interview many of the nationalist diaspora figures who had left Albania at the end of World War II.
In August 2009, Dalip Greca started running the Sun Newspaper, which had not been published for more than two and a half years. He revived the oldest newspaper in the Albanian world and for 12 years has turned it into the former glory of the founders. “Dielli” under the direction of Dalip Greca has undergone fundamental changes.
