During his official visit to Germany, Prime Minister Edi Rama met with the Mayor of Berlin, Franziska Giffey. As he enters the building, Rama says that he was once in this municipality when he was the mayor of Tirana.
“I was here once when I was mayor of Tirana, a long time ago,” Rama said. “Once you are mayor, you always remain mayor,” said the mayor of Berlin.
The two had prepared from a gift for each other. The Prime Minister, while giving him the gift, said that he had brought him a model of traditional Albanian shoes.

Rama arrived in Germany yesterday as part of an official visit, and today he will meet with Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in the afternoon, around 18:00, while the topic that is expected to be discussed is related to the country’s integration into the European Union, the war in Ukraine but also the crisis caused as a result of the war. Other issues affecting the two countries, such as the economy and foreign policy, will also be discussed.
After the meeting, there will be a press conference of the Prime Minister and the Chancellor, where the position of Germany regarding the country’s integration will be learned, in the context of a new order in Europe, where Ukraine is under attack by Russia.
