Rama meets today with Chancellor Scholz

Prime Minister Edi Rama arrived in Germany yesterday as part of an official visit, and today he will meet with Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

The meeting is scheduled to take place in the afternoon, around 18:00, while the topic that is expected to be discussed is related to the country’s integration into the European Union, the war in Ukraine but also the crisis caused as a result of the war.

Other issues affecting the two countries, such as the economy and foreign policy, will also be discussed.

After the meeting, there will be a press conference of the Prime Minister and the Chancellor, where Germany’s position regarding the country’s integration will be learned, in the context of a new order in Europe, where Ukraine is under attack by Russia.

The meeting will close with an informal Rama dinner with Scholz. Let us recall that since Scholz took office at least one thing has been noticed: Whenever he is given the opportunity to talk about EU policy, he does not forget to mention the countries of the Western Balkans, and in particular the necessity of opening negotiations with Albania and Northern Macedonia.
