Meta: Election fraud is becoming a legitimate instrument of authoritarian power in Albania

The President of Albania, Ilir Meta expressed his gratitude for the cooperation and assistance of the ODIHR for monitoring and raising the electoral standard in Albania.

However, the standard of elections in our country remains a problem, said Meta through a post on Facebook, where he thanked the director of the ODIHR, Mr. Matteo Mecaçi, whom he welcomed at the presidency today.

Meta says pre-election manipulation through the misuse of legal mechanisms and state resources is becoming an instrument of legitimizing authoritarian power and avoiding accountability.
