The head of the National Emergency Skender Brataj from Vlora has currently called the pandemic situation under control, but emphasizes that Covid-19 is still among us.

“Covid is still with us. It is certainly much quieter, but it is still present. We are worried about the fact of the end of the year what will come to us. “The situation at the moment is calm,” he said

There are 29-30 patients hospitalized, but according to Brataj the number of infected is higher. According to him, one of the reasons is related to the low number of tests in this period.

Brataj has indicated that the following situation should be expected. As he says the war is expected to create problems regarding COVID especially from Ukraine where citizens are unprotected for a long time and the infection will spread more.

“The war will create other problems for us, especially Ukraine where people all go down to the basements. “As always, it is the fear of mutations that can cause you problems,” he said.

For Brataj, this virus will be part of our lives, but it remains to be seen how the situation will turn out in autumn and winter. The head of the emergency has stressed that vaccination is the only weapon against the virus.

Although there is a decrease in interest for vaccination, Brataj has called for vaccination and this year will be available and about 1 million vaccines as contracts have already been closed. /abcnews.al
