Today, the Court of Tirana has decided to register the statutory changes issued by the Assembly of the Democratic Party of December 11, held by Sali Berisha and the Group of the Re-establishment Commission.
With this decision, the Court of Tirana, officially and legally recognizes the decisions of the National Assembly of the Democratic Party, for the changes that pave the way for the primary within the party, strengthening the membership, legalization of factions and determining the removal of the chairman in case of loss of general elections, while for local elections the mayor must be trusted.
Likewise, with the registration of the December 11th Assembly statute, the old party logo is restored to the Democratic Party, along with other symbols such as seals or flags.The legal representative of the Re-establishment Commission, Ivi Kaso, says that with today’s decision of the Tirana Court, the party will return to the Democrats.
“The court today issued the announced decision and decided to return their party to the Democrats. It is a great victory for all Democrats, what we have said since the beginning of time has been made official. “Today there is only one Democratic Party that is represented by the Re-establishment Commission and is certified by a court decision”, said Ivi Kaso. “Legally, the Democratic Party headquarters will be headed by the Re-establishment Commission,” Kaso said.
For its part, the Democratic Party accused that today’s decision would be inadmissible as the file is in the Court of Appeals.
Meanwhile, on December 18, 5004 DP delegates overturned any decision of the December 11 Assembly, including the dismissal of the leader of the Democrats and the changes to the statute approved in the Berisha Assembly. The delegates also gave their confidence to Basha for the removal of Berisha from leading positions in the DP. Democrats approved a ban on anyone declared ‘non grata’ from taking leadership positions in the party.
A few days ago the court registered Basha’s statute of July 2021.
