Lulzim Basha reacted for the first time after his resignation last night. He was followed by journalists and cameras after his resignation last night, but did not make any statement, while this morning he reacted regarding the result of the March 22 elections, where Albanians chose the DP to lead them.
“30 years ago, Albanians chose the Democratic Party, chose the future and won freedom and democracy, overthrowing the communist dictatorship once and for all. Our journey has been long and difficult, with successes that have marked the good life of Albanians, and failures that have separated us from the vast majority of Albanians who in 1992 gave life to the dream of a European Albania.
“In the third decade of that historic victory, the Democrats are facing the battle for a Democratic Party of the future, united on the values with which we were born, as the only hope of the Albanians for a better future”, said Basha.
A day earlier, Lulzim Basha said he would take a step back from the party leadership in order to reunite the Democrats, which seems to have paved the way for elections in the party and finding a new chairman.
Currently, PD is led by Enkelejd Alibeaj.
