Albanian politics has congratulated the 14th anniversary of Kosovo’s declaration of independence. Prime Minister Edi Rama has published a video on social networks, with images from the war until the declaration of Kosovo as an independent state.

Good morning. “Congratulations to all Albanians on the blessed day of Kosovo’s independence”, writes Rama.

Democrat leader Lulzim Basha writes that he bows with honor and gratitude to President Ibrahim Rugova, Adem Jashari and all soldiers who fought for Kosovo.

“Happy Independence Kosovo! Happy this lucky day to Albanians everywhere in the world. On the 14th anniversary of the state of Kosovo, we bow with honor and gratitude to President Ibrahim Rugova, Legendary Commander Adem Jashari, fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army, activists, patriots, sons and daughters of our nation who have made the most sublime sacrifice for independence.

President Ilir Meta also started the morning with a wish for Kosovo. Through a Facebook post, the Head of State expresses his gratitude to the martyrs, fighters and fathers of Kosovo’s Independence. “Happy Kosovo dear! Eternal gratitude to the Heroes, Martyrs, fighters and fathers of Kosovo Independence! “Albania-Kosovo are always next to each other”, writes Meta.

Today, 14 years ago, the Assembly of Kosovo, through a statement signed by MPs, except Serbs, declared Kosovo an independent and sovereign state, realizing the centuries-old desire of Albanians to gain independence. From February 17, 2008, a new state was added to the Balkans, Kosovo, which immediately began to be recognized by friendly countries, where so far it has been recognized by 113 countries in the world.
