“Controversies” of the parliament during the new session, the main topics between the majority and the opposition

schedule 16:06 - 3 Janar, 2022

The year we just left behind ended with an indictment and an arrested politician, Lefter Koka for 3.7 million euros for incinerators. This is promised to be the main topic of the opposition for the new parliamentary session.

Monika Kryemadhi has stated that she will open all the letters and the truth of what she calls the mega government criminal affair with the 3 incinerators will be revealed. Lulzim Basha also spoke about high corruption, while he mentioned this issue in almost every one of his speeches.

The incinerators will be followed by the parliamentary investigation that is scheduled to close on January 25. But this will not be the only policy topic in Parliament. There will also be issues that do not divide but unite political forces, such as that of the new electoral reform.

In principle, there is agreement between the majority and the opposition to make the new electoral law without waiting for the next elections, as is usually the case. This agreement is expected to be concluded within the first weeks of the new session with the establishment of the Parliamentary Committee and the start of work.

Another reform that requires consensus and discussions between the two parties in parliament is that of the new territorial map. The DP has requested it, throwing in some proposals while the SP has accepted it. Prime Minister Rama himself has stated the need to have a new administrative-territorial division.

The electoral massacre, as the DP labeled the April 25 elections, will continue to be in Parliament, as long as the Commission of Inquiry reaches a final document. In the calendar of works of the Parliament is also the draft law of the government, for Adoptions, a sensitive topic as it affects the family.
