Lushnja farmers have gathered to protest this Monday morning. Today’s protest comes after they did not receive any reaction from the Ministry of Agriculture, but also because of the escort and prosecution of 4 farmers and the head of the union Eduard Sharka, after they blocked the passage of vehicles to the rotation of the Plow, a few days ago.
Farmers are protesting against the government after the fiscal changes, which, among other things, provided for the abolition of the subsidy with 6% of VAT. They demand that their requests be considered. Meanwhile, the protest is being monitored by numerous police forces.
Farmers’ demands to the government:
Request No.1.
To directly subsidize the farmer per production unit with 10 ALL per kilogram.
Request No.2.
To stimulate exporters through the General Directorate of Customs according to the models of the region with ALL 3 per kilogram.
Request No.3.
To equalize the VAT rate on sales with that on purchases in the agricultural sector. Guarantee fair and honest legal tax for sector operators.
Request No.4.
Withdraw tax with 10% VAT on agricultural inputs. It is not the right time for this additional tax because the cost of agricultural inputs has increased
by 50-100% due to the global energy crisis.
Request No.5.
Orientation of farmers by the Ministry of Agriculture with accredited laboratories for analysis of land and agricultural products.
Request No.6.
Engage in regulating by law the conditions and manner of conducting trade in agricultural products to guarantee the interests of the parties in this market.
