The 13 Albanians rescued from the camps in Syria have been repatriated, thus finalizing the fourth operation for the repatriation of Albanian citizens who were in the war camps.

4 women and 9 children between the ages of 6 and 16 from Albania arrived at the airport “Adem Jashari” in Prishtina together with Albanian from Kosovo.

They were hosted by Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi at the Kosovo airport. Along with Çuçi was also his Kosovar counterpart, Xhelal Sveçla, the police chiefs of the two countries, Gledis Nano and Samedin Mehmeti, as well as the director of the CVE Center, Lejdi Dervishi.

“This is the fourth operation we are conducting. There are a total of 43 women and children who will already be in their families. I thank here our strategic partners who enabled us this operation, the United States of America, with whom we perfectly organized every detail of this operation. I want to assure all Albanians that we remain determined to return from these camps every Albanian who has remained there, every child and every woman”.

The repatriation operation of Albanian citizens from the former conflict zones in Syria and Iraq was carried out in the framework of a bilateral Albania-Kosovo cooperation and with the support of our valuable US partners through coordination with their diplomatic headquarters in Pristina and Tirana.
