24 delegations to gather in Tirana ahead of Berlin Process Summit

A very important international event will take place this Friday for the first time in history outside the borders of the EU, few days ahead of the Berlin Process Summit.

Foreign Ministry announced earlier that 24 delegations from member countries of the Berlin Process, which precedes the October 16 summit, will gather in Tirana.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministers of Serbia and Kosovo, Ivica Dacic and Donika Gërvalla, will be at the meeting today.

Announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs below: 

Dear colleagues,
I am letting you know some details of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Berlin Process, for which you are probably interested. In the meantime, appreciation to each of you for the correctness and permanent cooperation with me and MEPJ.

*24 delegations from the member countries of the Berlin Process will gather tomorrow in Tirana, Friday, October 6, 2023, at the meeting of Foreign Ministers, which precedes the Summit of the Berlin Process that will be held in Tirana on October 16, 2023. The meeting will to be led by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Igli Hasani. It will be attended by: EC Enlargement Commissioner, Oliver Varhelyi, EAS Representative, Angelina Eichhorst; The Foreign Ministers of Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as member countries of the Berlin Process such as Germany, Austria, Greece, Hungary, etc. RCC and RYCO are also part of the Berlin Process.

The meeting will have 2 sessions which will be closed and at the end Minister Hasani, German Minister Baerbock and Commissioner Varhelyi will appear in a joint press conference.
The main lines of the ministry will be:

– Strengthening the regional dimension;
– Underlining the special importance of this process in the context of EU integration;
– Strengthening the commitment related to the Common Regional Market, the four basic freedoms, the Green and Digital Agenda;
– Alignment with the EU Single Market;
– Maintaining the revitalizing momentum achieved at the annual Summit in Berlin;
– Implementation of mobility agreements;
– Strengthening relations between the states of the region, as well as accelerating European Integration.
