The unit cost for each vaccinated is estimated at about 2,800 ALL.
In Albania, vaccination against Covid-19 started on January 11, 2021. Since the beginning of vaccination, a total of 1,816,580 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered. By mid-October, according to the Ministry of Health, 845,877 of them had received both doses of the vaccine or 29.8% of the population.
How many doctors are treated with medical bonus
About 44 million ALL have been spent in the first 4 months of 2021 for the treatment with the Covid-19 bonus of the medical staff. For the period January-April, 341 medical and non-medical staff were treated with a bonus. According to the financial monitoring report for the Ministry of Health and Social Protection for the first 4 months of 2021, the cost at the end of the period for each is estimated at 129,000 ALL.
In 2020 in the period January-April were treated with the bonus of Covid-19 about 270 employees as medical and non-medical personnel. Expenditures for bonus treatment in the first wave of the pandemic reached ALL 76.4 million with costs for each member of the medical or non-medical staff in the amount of ALL 283,200.
For 60 doctors and nurses sent abroad, 18.4 million ALL have been spent for years with a bonus of 307,000 ALL for each. At the beginning of the pandemic, the Ministry of Health predicted to spend 30 million ALL for the bonus, if it would send 1,150 doctors and nurses abroad. It was predicted that the cost per unit according to the revised plan would be 26,000 ALL.
