Interior Minister Taulant Balla held a meeting with lecturers and leaders of the University of Tirana, with the aim of building bridges of institutional cooperation within the framework of excellence programs for the State Police.
Balla said that the police force needs to be renewed and deepen its self-purification. He underlined that he will send to the assembly some changes in the law on the State Police, which will facilitate the process of refreshing the police organization.
In his speech, Minister Balla said that the challenge to renew the State Police is an open challenge.
“The challenge for a qualitative increase in the professional level and continuous training of State Police employees is also an open challenge.
The challenge to clean up the State Police has naturally entered a new phase, which naturally also requires partnerships with institutions that produce cadres with a good educational level and quality,” said Balla.
Further, focusing on the issue of cooperation with USH, Minister Balla said that “I am here today at the University of Tirana precisely to plan together the near future of the State Police, which aims at a change and definitely the emphasis goes to the self-cleaning of the ranks of the Police. Within the structure of the police, we are already creating mechanisms, which aim to promote people with high moral and professional integrity,” said the Minister.
Currently, in eight districts of the country, applications are open to enter the Security Academy, for students who have completed both cycles of studies in the fields: law, economics and IT, with an average of 8 and above.
There are 100 positions to be filled in the Criminal Police, which will be selected from this contingent of university students.
