The Court of Appeal of Tirana is expected to consider today the appeal made by the official DP for the decision of the first instance, which recognized the Assembly of December 11, 2021 and Sali Berisha as the head of this political force.
So far, the lawyers representing Enkelejd Alibeaj, namely Inderit Sefa and Rezart Kthupi, have arrived at the Court of Appeal. As well as the representatives of Sali Berisha’s Pulpit, Ivi Kasi and Oerd Bylykbashi.
The session is scheduled to be held at 11:00 a.m., while the lot has determined that the panel of appeals will be headed by judge Elona Mihali, while its members will be Irida Kacerja and Astrit Kalaja.
The trio will decide on the Democratic Party’s appeal against the March 25, 2022 decision of the judge of the First Instance, Agron Zhukri. On January 17, the Court of Appeal suspended the trial on the DP case, after the Alibeaj group withdrew from the appeal for the merger of the two statutes. Judge Zhukri recognized the status of Berisha, released by the Assembly on December 11, 2021.
