The General Director of the State Police, Sokol Bizhga, has presented the plan of measures undertaken for the smooth running of security for the Berlin summit, which will be held on Monday in Tirana.
He emphasized that some roads will be blocked while nearby businesses will also remain closed. Bizhga added that starting at 8:00 p.m. on October 15 until the end of the summit on October 16 at 8:00 p.m., parking and traffic of vehicles and citizens will be prohibited, but only the movement of those who are residents of residential premises within the security perimeter.
Citizens will not be allowed to walk on “Pope John Paul II” street. Bizhga also announced that 1604 police forces will be engaged for the success of this summit.
Starting at 20:00 on October 15 until the end of the Summit, on October 16, at 20:00, parking, traffic of vehicles and citizens will be prohibited, but only the movement of citizens who are residents in residential premises within the security perimeter. All private businesses located within the security perimeter will be closed on Monday. Citizens will not even be allowed to walk on “Pope John Paul II” street.
We emphasize that the above restrictions are a function of the security perimeter for the Summit, so we ask for the understanding of the citizens to respect the legal requirements and procedures, regulated by the State Police.
In order to facilitate the progress of this important activity, the State Police requests the understanding and cooperation of all citizens, to reduce to the maximum the use and circulation of vehicles, during this day, as well as to use road axes and other directions of movement. This contribution of the citizens would be appreciated as a very valuable help for guaranteeing security measures during this Summit.
In conclusion, I thank the media for their support and assure the citizens of the full readiness of the State Police structures to strictly implement all the planned measures, in order to ensure public order, before, during and after the Summit of the Process of Berlin, as well as for an effective cooperation with all other actors./abcnews.al
