Appellate of Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime is reviewing this Tuesday the appeal against the arrest measures for the six arrested in the “Metamorfoza” operation.
This session started at 10:00 a.m., as the arrested persons requested a lighter security measure than that of prison arrest.
It is about the businessman Pëllumb Gjoka, the prosecutor Xhevahir Lita, the former chief of operations, Oltion Bistri, the former officer Adrit Hasanbegaj, Asmer Bilali and Edmond Preka, who was chauffeur of businessman Gjoka.
The prosecution has issued a total of 15 arrest warrants and only six of them have been executed. Arrest warrants have been issued for the others, including Behar Bajri and Ervis Martinaj, but they are wanted.
They are charged with 12 criminal offenses, from “Premeditated murder”, “Structured criminal group”, “Corruption of high state officials” to “Abuse of duty” and “Money laundering”.
Prosecution claims to have discovered four assassinations, including the execution of Gjin Boriçi, which happened in 2020 in Shkodër.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, all these criminal events were discovered by the data provided by the foreign authorities, provided by communications through SKY and EncroChat.
