Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK) has filed an appeal in the High Court for Jamarber Malltez, requesting his return to prison, as reported Friday. On November 21, the Court of Appeal changed the measure for Malltez from “prison arrest” to “house arrest”.

This Friday, the Special Appeal rejected Jamarber Malltez’s request for the return of the seized phone.

According to the decision of the Special Appeal, Malltezi is ordered not to leave his apartment and not to communicate with other people except those who live with him.

Defense of Malltezi, who is accused of passive corruption in the case of the privatization of the former “Partizani” complex, sent a few days ago a request for the cancellation or mitigation of the “prison arrest” measure.

Jamarber Malltezi, who previously held the position of Head of the Department of Environment in the Democratic Party, was arrested on October 21, while he was at Rinas airport.

Malltezi is suspected to have benefited from 3-5% of the real estate of 5 families that he represented by proxy and was himself a representative in exchange for privatization, where he built 17 towers.

Also, the Special Court seized the assets of Jamarber Malltez, the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who previously also held the position of Head of the Department of the Environment in the Democratic Party.

In addition to the arrest of Malltez, GJKKO imposed an obligation to appear for his father-in-law, former prime minister Sali Berisha, and for Fatmir Bektashi.

Berisha’s passport has also been blocked and he cannot move abroad.

“Partizani” sports club was the most important sports complex owned by the Ministry of Defense, not far from the center of Tirana, where 17 towers have been erected today.
