Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has closed the investigations and has sent for trial the file in charge of officials of the Municipality of Dimal who are accused of corruption.
It is about officials Arben Guraj in charge of services at Dimal Municipality; Altin Pali director of the Urban Planning Office, Dimal Municipality; Agim Çunaj in charge of the IKMT near the Dimal Municipality and the former official Valentina Jançe in charge at the time of the crime responsible for the urban development sector at the Dimal Municipality.
Arjan Demiri (engineer) has also been charged; as well as Vait Koshi, manager of a private entity. They are accused of receiving 3,000 euros to grant construction permits and favoring companies.
The officials were handcuffed on February 14 of this year at the request of SPAK. The reason for the arrest was the abuse of construction permits. The 4 officials gave construction permits against bribes ranging from 2,500 euros to 3,000 euros.
After granting construction permits, they imposed on the citizens that the construction on the site should be done by the preferred company of the municipal officials.
SPAK started investigations into this matter, after the denunciation made by Petrit Baho. The latter, in a denunciation made on November 25, 2020, stated that his property was destroyed by the municipality’s workers on November 23, 2020 with the claim that they were going to make a flower garden, but then the municipality gave permission to another citizen to continue the construction in his property.
The works for flower gardens by the Municipality did not aim to expand public spaces, but to favor the other person, with whom the complainant admits that there was an ownership conflict.
