The parliamentary group of the Socialist Party met this Monday in the pink headquarters where they discussed various issues. This was the first meeting of the SP Parliamentary Group under the leadership of Bledi Çuçi. Prime Minister Edi Rama was absent as he is in New York.
The meeting has ended and only the issues related to the agenda were discussed in the plenary session on Thursday. A session which will be important, because the law for the return of gambling only online will be voted.
This variant was not well received even by some exponents of the SP, and it has been decided not to vote this Thursday, with the reason that there is a need to look more closely at this issue.
Another issue that has been discussed is that of the salaries of constitutional judges, where eventhough head of the official Democratic Party Lulzim Basha and his small group agreed to combine votes with Rama, the number of 84 votes was not reached. This initiative was postponed and risks not being voted on this Thursday either.
Two other issues that have not yet received an answer today are the issue of the ombudsman and that of the Electoral Reform.
On Thursday, the Parliament must make a decision, and if it doesn’t happen, the committee risks dissolving, which would go in Democrat MP Gazment Bardhi’s favour and if it is renewed, it would go in Basha’s favour.
