Candidate of the Socialist Party (SP) for the municipality of Kukës, Albert Halilaj voted on Sunday morning.
In the race for the first of the city, Halilaj faces Emri Vata, the candidate registered under the slogan of the “Together We Win” coalition, while the official DP, although registered as a competing subject, did not present a candidate.
Partial elections in Kukës are taking place after the scandal involving former mayor Safet Gjici, a few weeks after he won the May 14 elections.
On his part, Gjici was arrested for passive corruption after allegedly favoring Alma Kaçi by offering her financial support on a project for the care of stray dogs.
