Absence of the lawyers of Bardhyl Çabiri and Serafin Papa has caused the postponement of the session for the Elbasan incinerator, while the next session is set to be held on June 8 at 9:30 a.m.
Few days ago, the Special Prosecutor’s Office filed a claim and requested a 10-year prison sentence for former environment minister Lefter Koka, arrested for the Elbasan incinerator affair.
SPAK requested the same punishment for the administrators Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri and if they are found guilty, they will serve a sentence of 6 years and 8 months in prison because their request for a shortened trial has been accepted.
Koka is accused of abuse of office, corruption of high state officials and money laundering.
As for the other administrator, Stela Gugallja, the prosecution requested the final sentence of 4 years and 8 months. She is still being sought, along with the Martyr of Zoto.
According to the prosecution, Lefter Koka in the capacity of the Minister of the Environment granted a concession and allowed the construction of the Elbasan incinerator by taking bribes of 3.7 million euros from the company’s administrators.
While Alqi Blako, in cooperation with other officials, organized the procedure for setting up and granting the incinerator’s consent in violation of the law.
