Prime Minister Edi Rama visited the “Shefqet Ndroqi” University Hospital this Tuesday, where one of the 17 new centers created by the sterilization concession is located. According to the head of the government, SPAK’s (Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime) investigation into possible abuses in the construction process of this Public-Private Partnership, does not at all affect the tangible success of this initiative of the Albanian government for the Renaissance of Health.
Looking closely at the changes made in the hospital, the Prime Minister emphasized that the sterilization PPP (public–private partnership) has guaranteed a brand new safety standard for operative interventions, as well as saved the state tens of millions of euros by reducing the days of stay in hospitals after operations.
He also said that this investigation ensures that no one goes unpunished if he cheats the state and the Albanian people, taking illegal personal benefits while performing his duties in the work for the common goal.
“I rather wanted to come to take advantage of this moment where there has been a lot of confusion because of the company’s investigation into the sterilization procedure, between the great benefit the system has had and whatever certain individuals may have been doing behind our backs, which is their problem with justice.
Only the reduction of the days after the operation of staying in the hospital has brought a financial benefit that is higher than all the total expenses that have been incurred for this process and all the costs that have been foreseen for the process”, said Rama.
