Prime Minister Edi Rama has declared this Monday that Albania is ready for the EU. He thanked the administration for the work done over the years, stressing that at first he was very distrustful of their work.
Thus, Rama emphasized that he felt very proud when colleagues and presidents of different countries told him that Albania is conducting wonderful negotiations.
“It was impossible to gather everyone in one hall because a bigger hall would be needed, but with a compromise you are here.
I thank those who contributed a lot, but are not here today and deserve recognition like all of you.
I have been very afraid of this moment of the negotiations, because it is a very challenging test. It would not be necessary for me to be very skeptical of the administration at the head of the government because this is their job.
But apparently I, too, am infected with the virus of mistrust of the administration that is fueled by the incessant bad news. Meanwhile, they make most of the administration not make news and not be appreciated enough for the work they do.
For the sake of the truth, I believe you understand when I say I was very afraid because it is not easy to bring 1800 Albanians together for a job that lasts for years, since it is not three days.
