Prime Minister Edi Rama started this Monday with the annual call to women and girls to take some time and take care of themselves by doing the necessary checks to prevent unwanted health surprises.
“GOOD MORNING, and with the annual call every #PinkOctober to all women and girls to take a moment to take care of themselves by getting a mammogram, and a reminder to all families to take care of mothers, wives, sisters and daughters to perform medical checks to prevent unwanted health surprises, I wish you a good week” wrote PM Rama.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), also referred to in the United States as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure.
Observances of the event have faced criticism for corporate involvement by drug companies, as well as instances of pink washing associated with the events.
