More than 580 cannabis sativa seedlings were found and destroyed this Sunday by police in the village of Mnelë e Vogël in Vaut de Deja.
Law enforcement has announced a search for the suspected author of the cultivation of these seedlings, and the village headman has been criminally prosecuted for abuse of office.
Afterwards, the procedural materials were passed to Shkodra Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
“Services of the Vau i Deja Police Station, following the checks carried out from the ground and from the air, with Police drones, based on police intelligence, within the police operation coded “Mnela”, have found in the village of Mnelë e Small, 583 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa seedlings, which were destroyed by burning, while a small part of them was seized as material evidence.
From the quick investigative actions, the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Vau i Deja Police Station made it possible to identify and announce the wanted author of this cultivation case. The work for his capture continues.
In addition, for this case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office, where the proceedings began in a free state, for the criminal offense “Abuse of duty”, for the elder of the village of Mnelë e Vogël, Vau i Dejës”, informed the police.
