Albania’s Assembly will convene this Monday, although the opposition has warned that it will block the plenary session again.
This plenary session is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. in a marathon session where the 2024 budget will be discussed and approved, while the opposition has opposed this budget.
Meanwhile, as it has already declared, the opposition will try to block the works as a sign of opposition for the non-fulfillment of their 3 demands for the establishment of investigative commissions.
Opposition has not taken any steps forward regarding the action to block the parliament. On the other hand, the ruling majority lawmakers do not foresee changing the scenario, while the Socialist Party (SP) has indicated that the budget can be passed even without a parliamentary debate.
In case the opposition decides to hide in the Parliament hall, there is a possibility that the session will be moved to the premises of the Presidency of the Assembly.
Two days ago, head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party (DP), Gazment Bardhi, published a photo, where according to him an order was given for the Guard to block the hall of parliamentary sessions, preventing the democrats from implementing the scenario of overturning the chairs.
If what Bardhi stated will happen, then it is not known what scenario the opposition will implement. Meanwhile, these claims were rejected by the Assembly, which emphasized that Speaker Lindidta Nikolla has not ordered any special plan.
