Behar Bajri has been extradited from France to Albania this Thursday. He was arrested in France, in September, thanks to the exchange between the Albanian and French police of information provided by the police intelligence, about his location.

However, the 43-year-old was declared an international wanted by Interpol Tirana, within the “Metamorfoza” operation.

According to the investigations, Bajri, in collaboration with other citizens, killed Gjin Boriçi in 2020. It is also suspected that he organized and coordinated his associates, gave them information on the location of opponents, in order to organize ambushes, with the aim of killing them.

From the investigations carried out by the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, there are suspicions that Bajri, in return for offering monetary sums to justice officials, has made it possible to be released from prison ahead of time.

Bajri is part of the criminal group, which was hit by the investigative file of the “Metarfoza” operation. Investigations against Bajri and 14 others implicated in the “Metamorfoza” file started four years ago, after the dismantling of the “Sky” and “EnkroChat” networks by the partner countries, which brought their findings to Albania.

Among other things, Bajri is accused of being the organizer of the murder of Gjin Boriçi for the account of the missing Ervis Martinaj, the insurance of persons for the attempted murder of Kleanthi Musabelliu, for the account of the businessman Pëllumb Gjoka and the orderer of the murders that were never carried out of Dorian Dulit, Genc Tafilit and Ibrahim Licit.

Behar Bajri organized and planned all these scenarios after his release from prison with a reduced arrest warrant, signed by prosecutor Xhevahir Lita. The latter is behind bars as it is suspected that he received an amount of 30 thousand euros, for the “honor” performed.
