20th phase of the “Imazhi” anti-cannabis mega-operation has seen conducted this Wednesday in Lezha, thanks to whichit became possible to seize 5490 cannabis sativa narcotic plants.
Police revealed that these narcotic plants were found cultivated on the ground, in 4 different villages of the Lezhë and Kurbin district, while 1,200 open pits prepared for cultivation were found and destroyed.
In the meantime, the police are working to identify and arrest the persons responsible for this criminal activity.
“Police services of the Lezhë and Kurbin Police Stations, equipped with drones, have continued the intensive checks on the ground and from the air, with priority in the deep mountainous areas, with a risk in terms of the cultivation of narcotic plants, in implementation of the nationwide operational plan that has as the objective of preventing, ascertaining and combating this criminal activity.
Specifically, in the Lezha district:
-in the village of Gjobardhaj, administrative unit Ungrej, 1507 suspected cannabis sativa narcotic plants were found cultivated;
– in Ungrej village, Ungrej administrative unit, in different coordinates, 1225 suspected cannabis sativa narcotic plants were found cultivated as well as 1200 open pits ready for cultivation;
– in the village of Fregen, administrative unit of Hungary, in different coordinates, 2600 suspected cannabis sativa narcotic plants were found cultivated;
Also, from the checks carried out by the police services in the territory of the Kurbin district, in the village of Vinjoll, the administrative unit of Milot, 158 suspected cannabis sativa narcotic plants were found cultivated.
The narcotic plants, after performing the procedural actions, were destroyed by burning”, said the law enforcement.
