Lulzim Basha’s latest stance not to change the electoral system is seen by MP Muslim Murrizi of the Democratic as part of an agreement that exists between him and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
However, the passage of amendments to the Electoral Code to Parliament will not be easy.
Murrizi says the parliamentary opposition’s pro-reform vote will be conditional on changing the electoral system.
A group of 39 opposition lawmakers have submitted to the Electoral Reform Commission a special request for the electoral system to pass the first point of discussion.
This request will be sent to the President, but with a different object. /abcnews.al
