A day before the 25th April elections, President Ilir Meta appeared at an extraordinary press conference, where, among other things, he spoke about the debate in distance with US Ambassador Yuri Kim.
The head of state stressed out that he loves the United States as a country of freedom and democracy, adding that he is not impressed by lobbyists who speak English and think Serbian.
” I love the United States because they have inspired us for freedom and democracy and I am committed to Albania joining the EU as soon as possible. The world won’t laugh at Albania. Albania will shine. Now, prosecutors, cops do your job.
The president of Albania is not impressed by all lobbyists who speak English and think Serbian. Albania will belong to the Albanians. Citizens are aware that their vote is their power. Albania will be a model for demonstrating the sovereignty of the people of Albania. So thank you very much and I invite you to be on standby to prevent any incident.
