Council of Mandates will convene this Monday at 12:00 in the Presidency of the Assembly to consider the request of Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK), which requires the granting of authorization for the arrest of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

For weeks, Berisha refused to appear before the special court, with the argument that the measure against him was taken by bypassing the Assembly and he did not recognize an anti-constitutional decision.

Now that the prosecutors knocked on the Parliament for the removal of his immunity, Sali Berisha has not yet confirmed whether he will sit in front of them at the decisive meeting at 12 o’clock.

Although he was against the group of deputies, Berisha has called a protest to the presidency of the Assembly at the same time that the Council for Mandates and Immunity will meet for his arrest.

Gazmend Bardhi did not support the idea of protests, but he is one of the 30 deputies who have addressed the Constitutional Court to stop the arrest of Berisha.

The former prime minister is under investigation by SPAK for the “Partizani” file, from the privatization of which, according to prosecutors, Berisha’s son-in-law benefited 5 million euros.

For this, the leader of Foltores was put under investigation under the measure of compulsory appearance and not leaving the country, but Berisha did not obey with the argument that he had immunity.

After 3 non-appearances before the SPAK, the prosecutors demanded a harsher measure against him, with prison or house arrest.

Berisha has declared that he will respect the decision passed by the Assembly, despite the fact that he considers the prosecutors to be Rama’s soldiers.

Socialists will not defend Berisha, as they have done with their colleagues, and will authorize the prosecution and the court to take measures against him.

The Assembly has scheduled Tuesday to vote on the removal of Sali Berisha’s immunity.
