The former candidate for president of the Democratic Party, Fatbardh Kadilli, declared that today’s opposition is not an alternative for Albanians. In an interview with ABC News, Kadilli said that the opposition has become a refuge of despair and not of hope.
“This opposition can no longer be an alternative for Albanians. The opposition cannot become a refuge of despair, the opposition should be a refuge of hope. To be a haven of hope, it cannot continue with the same people.
The new opposition must be an alternative with young people, young people must have new political ideas. This makes the new opposition. I refer to the opposition, because change can only come from the opposition, it cannot come from the government. Change has never come from the government, change comes from the opposition,” he said.
As for the situation in the Democratic Party, Kadolli added: “They lost a lot of time, 1 year, to understand what they do and why they are where they are. They are still in the first stages of self-articulation. One cannot simply be anti-Berishism”.
