Building of the North Mitrovica municipality was attacked with hand grenades during Tuesday night, while the Kosovo Police announced that some material damage was caused to two official cars.
“In the late hours of the evening, a suspect attacked the Municipality in the North of Mitrovica with an explosive device. Based on official information, it is suspected that in the yard of the municipal facility in Mitrovica, near the entrance of the facility, an explosive device was thrown, which is suspected to have been a hand grenade, causing some material damage to official vehicles.
Fortunately, no human injuries were reported, except for material damage caused to two official police vehicles. In consultation with the competent prosecutor, the case, “committing a terrorist act”, was initiated.
The Police of Kosovo will continue to engage in providing security and preventing such criminal acts against the officials and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo”, stated the Police announcement.
