The Special Appeal of GJKKO has upheld the “prison arrest” decision for the former head of the Operational Forces Oltion Bistri. He was arrested as part of the “Metamorphosis” operation, while his request for a lighter security measure was rejected.
Oltion Bistri was arrested in July last year.
The head of the Kukes prosecutor’s office, Xhevahir Lita, businessman Pëllumb Gjoka, as well as citizens Esmar Bilali, Ardit Hasanbenga and Edmond Preka, accused of a series of criminal offenses, were also imprisoned. He is accused of revealing investigative secrets and abuse of office.
The arrest came at the behest of SPAK following the analysis of messages on the Sky ECC and Encrochat apps. According to the Prosecution, Bistri conveyed information to certain persons regarding the operations carried out by the State Police.
