Former heaf of Fushe-Kruja prison arrested on domestic violence charges

Durim Tosku has been arrested this Sunday, after dismissal from the position as director of Fushë-Kruja’s prison.  The 52-year-old is suspected of abusing his wife, who was granted a protection order.

Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, on the proposal of the General Director of Prisons, ordered his dismissal.  During the search of his apartment, a pistol-type firearm with military ammunition was found, which the 52-year-old possessed without a permit.

Minister of Justice, Mr. Ulsi Manja has taken this step, following the proposal of the General Director of Prisons, basing the decision on ethical and legal criteria violated by Mr. Patience Toska.

The decision comes in line with the objectives of the Ministry of Justice and the General Directorate of Prisons for improving efficiency and integrity in the justice system.

Minister Manja expresses confidence in the continuation of the work and the commitment to ensure a strong and fair administration”, informed the Ministry of Justice.
