Five people have been arrested, three others have been placed under investigation and one has been declared wanted after being accused of arson in Fier, the police announced Sunday.
After the announcements about 9 fires in the villages of PishEPoro, Frashër, Ofiçinë, Marînez, Jagodinë, Lumth, Goriçaj and Remas, the perpetrators of the 9 cases were identified and prosecuted.
Afterwards, the procedural materials were passed to Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Fier General Jurisdiction for further actions.
Meanwhile, the Fier Local Police Directorate appeals to citizens not to light fires under any circumstances, as this action constitutes a crime and is punishable by law, and invites them to report any such case to the number 112, with the aim of immediate intervention for extinguishing the flames and the criminal proceedings of the responsible citizens.

– a 48-year-old resident of Frashër was arrested, because he lit a fire on his land to burn garbage, the fire got out of control and as a result 12 dynums of crops owned by other citizens were burned;
– a 70-year-old citizen, a resident of Marinez, was arrested, because because he lit a fire on his land, to burn garbage, the fire got out of control and as a result dozens of olive roots, owned by another citizen, were burned;
– a 49-year-old resident of Jagodina was arrested, because he started a fire on his land to burn garbage, the fire got out of control and as a result the greenhouses owned by another citizen were burned.
