The Special Court has sentenced the defendants in the Fieri incinerator case. ABC News reporter Ermal Vija reports that the former Minister of the Environment, Lefter Koka, was sentenced to 9.8 years in prison due to a shortened trial.

As the former secretary in this ministry, Alqi Blako was sentenced to 2.8 years in prison. Arben Dervishaj, in the role of inspector of the works, was declared innocent.

“The hearing regarding the process for the Fier incinerator has ended, where the court has given several decisions, and dismissed several requests of the prosecution, acquitting 3 persons charged and leaving in effect the request of the prosecution, regarding the former the Minister of the Environment, Lefter Koka, for the years of the sentence, sentencing him to 10 years in prison.

For Alqi Bllako, the Special Prosecutor’s Office demanded a sentence of 7 years in prison, the court sentenced him to 4 years in prison and in the end to 2.8 years due to the shortened trial. For Alqi Bllako, the court found him not guilty of abuse of duty.

As for the other decision, it is about Arben Dervishaj, in the capacity of the inspector of the works, the court found him innocent, ordering his release. In relation to Klodian Zoto, the Prosecution asked for a sentence of 12 years in prison, but the court imposed a sentence of 8 years in prison”.
