schedule 09:43 - 19 Tetor, 2023

European Parliament (EP) is expected to approve this Thursday a resolution on the relations between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as on the terrorist attack in the village of Banjska.

This resolution was initiated by the political group of social democrats in the EP, as they assess the situation in Kosovo as “extremely worrying”.

Resolution which has 29 points, strongly condemns the “terrorist attack” on the Kosovo Police by the “Serbian armed gang in the middle of the biggest arms smuggling operation” in Banjska in the north of Kosovo, which happened on September 24 and since resulted in the killing of police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku and the wounding of two other policemen.

On her part, the rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Viola von Cramon, on Wednesday in an interview, spoke about the resolution and said that her motion will be voted on in today’s session where the sanctioning of Serbia is requested, as well as the extradition of Radoicic.

“We have had a long constructive discussion in the European Parliament, where five groups have come up with resolutions and we negotiated together regarding the common text for the resolution, where we have come up with a strong text and echo Serbia”. until he clarified that the motion for resolution will be voted on Thursday, around 1:30 p.m.”, said Von Cramon.
