In three municipalities, namely in Kamëz, Vorë and Elbasan, voting will be done electronically in the May 14 elections. The head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, guaranteed from Elbasan that the device ensures 100% secrecy of the vote, so he invited the citizens not to hesitate to vote on May 14.
“From the point of view of security and the guarantee of vote secrecy, this device has a 100% guarantee. I invite the voters of these 3 municipalities to participate and vote without hesitation, without doubting that their vote will be known or made public.
The device and system provide all guarantees. On the other hand, the equipment is very simple, for all categories of voters. It facilitates the voting process, citizens in these three municipalities will verify that the process is very simple.” said Celibashi, while adding that the electronic device avoids the phenomenon of family voting.
Regarding a possible cyber-attack, Celibashi said that the devices are 100% safe. “I reconfirm that the secrecy of the vote is ensured 100%. Security is greater with voting with this device than with a ballot. They are 100% safe from cyber-attacks, they are not networked with the internet. A report is printed with the printer that is connected to the device and has the corresponding stamps. The use is very simple, no special qualification is required. The challenge remains the recruitment of operators.” Celibashi said further.
