Municipality of Elbasan reacted this Wednesday regarding the case of the 5-year-old boy with autism, after it was reported that he was mistreated by the kindergarten teacher.
In the official announcement, it is clarified that the case was referred by the parents on October 26 and immediately on October 27, the kindergarten directorate together with representatives of the preschool education sector in the Municipality of Elbasan met.
On October 30, the educator was suspended until the event is fully clarified.
“Regarding the announcement made by the Elbasan District Police Department regarding the investigation of a teacher at large in one of the city’s public kindergartens, we inform you that:
The case was referred by the parents in the afternoon of October 26, when, according to them, the children claim that the teacher encouraged them to react to the 5-year-old autistic boy, who sometimes exhibits hyperactivity and violent behavior.
Immediately on October 27 (Friday), the parents were gathered by the kindergarten directorate together with representatives of the preschool education sector in the Municipality of Elbasan to discuss the case.
Immediately on Monday, October 30, the teacher was suspended until the full disclosure of what happened in the kindergarten.
Then a working group consisting of psychologists, social workers, representatives of the pre-school education sector in the municipality, the child protection sector, representatives of the ZVA and representatives of the police was set up to investigate the case.
Since the child has problems of the autistic spectrum, the case requires special care and supervision by psychologists. Meanwhile, the educator continues to be suspended until the situation is clarified”, as quoted from the announcement.
