Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has blamed the EU for the delayed visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens.

During his meeting with the new Kosovo PM, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that Kosovo has fulfilled all conditions. The head of the Albanian government said that the reason lies in the domestic policy of the EU countries, the ‘electoral calculations’.

“We do not make decisions on Kosovo, we do not speak on behalf of Kosovo, but for Kosovo. It is a shame for the EU that today it is holding an entire people ‘hostage’, the only one in our continent, which is forbidden to move freely.

As a state, it has fulfilled all the obligations that every state must fulfill before obtaining visa liberalization. We know very well the reason, it is not found in Kosovo, or any inability of Kosovo to fulfill its obligations, they have been met and recognized by the EC itself, the reason lies in Europe, in the domestic politics of the EU, different countries, which more and more when they make decisions for us, start from the calculations for the electoral stability of the governing forces,” Rama said./abcnews.al
